Planning & Pitch

Now all of my primary and secondary research is complete, I need to start to plan my short film.
Furthermore, I will need to pitch my idea (5-10 minutes) so it can be signed off and I can begin to film and edit my film. To make a successful pitch, in effect, I will need to sell my idea.

In my pitch, I will need to include the following elements in my pitch:
    • Convinced presentation connoting complete research
    • Storyboards and Animatics
    • Mock up of poster and review
    • Shot List
    • Scripting
    • Locations/Actors/Equipment
    • Consider; Genre, Narrative, Representation, Audience
    • Media Language

Although my pitch does not need to follow a certain structure, there are a number of key questions that I need to address..

What is the meaning in/behind your project?

Who is your target audience?
  • how are they reflected in my work?
  • how do I know who they are?
  • Beyond gender and age, social status, race/ethnicity, lifestyle presented

What is your narrative – how have you created meaning?
- Give yourself a voice
- storyboard
- structure – how is it pieced together to add meaning
- camera, editing, sound, mise-en-scene
