Finished Poster

This is the final design for my poster. Firstly, I have used textures to make the background of the design. The folded, crumbled look, I personally feel has brought the poster to life. Being a very minimalistic design, The faint lines and monochromatic color scheme add some life to the design, making it eye catching and interesting. The use of the raven silhouette is the most important element on the poster. Being a renowned symbol of death, I have used to the raven to forebode the death that is to come in the film. I am hoping that the audience will pick up on this idea, thus creating synergy between the poster and the film itself. Following the minimalist design, I went for font face 'Helvetica Neue'. This serif font is very thin and very elegant, yet, the sharp lines make it stand out against the background. However, when I had the font just on the page, it looked too prominent on the page. To fix this, I have taken a faint brush and rubbed out parts of the letters at different opacities, making it fit with the dishevelled theme. The hardest part to design on the poster was the credit section at the bottom. Trying to make the names and the titles fit into an even line, proved to be fairly challenging. I decided that by using a pyramid formation, I could evenly fit in the design, thus keeping an even design throughout the design.
